Eco-Living occurs at two distinct levels - Individual and Community.
At the individual level, eco-living means that we become as self-sufficient as possible in terms of the necessities: food and energy dependency. What has to be considered are the options for reducing our food dependency on distant corporations. This means buying more from your local greengrocer who sources food locally, or even doing what we've done and joined the legion of people who are "growing their own". Only by looking at growing your own food and even generating you own electricity methods can we take ourselves "off the grid" as much as possible - if not entirely.
At the community level, eco-living entails reverting back to a more traditional way of life which includes weaning ourselves from our complete dependence on sources far removed for everything we need for survival and economic activity. For almost all of history - with the anomalous exception of the last 100 years or so - smaller communities were capable of producing the basic necessities of survival, especially if called upon to do so by external events. These small communities recycle and resuse all sorts of things between themselves, a practice which many of us have forgotten in today's "throw away" society.
Our sustainable, recycled products help us all to lead an eco-lifestyle on a community level by reusing and recycling everyday objects - how great is it when they're made into some of our beautiful unique gifts!!!
